Daily trips the the reefs surrounding the island are offered at affordable prices. Private boats depart twice per day with a maximum of 8 divers per boat.

Located near Cancun, Isla Mujeres is an island destination for scuba divers and non scuba divers alike. The Island remains a serene, quiet and undiscovered piece of paradise with a subtropical climate.

Diving In Isla Mujeres

The reef surrounding Isla Mujeres is part of the second largest reef system in the world and is known in the scuba diving industry as one of the best reef systems for diving.

Teeming with schools of fish and great visibility, Isla Mujeres offers scuba divers a vast playground for discovering the underwater world.

Most of the scuba diving and snorkeling activity around Isla Mujeres is focused on the reefs and shallow coral formations of the National Marine Park that extends from the southern tip of the island to the point of Cancun.

Fishing is not allowed in this area.

There are two main coral reef systems surrounding Isla Mujeres, Manchones and Atlantis reefs. Easily accessible with depths beginning in less than 30 feet of water, Isla Mujeres reefs boast abundant underwater sea life and colorful coral. There is also an underwater museum (MUSA) which promotes the growth of new corals.

There are also several wreck drives within minutes of the Island that provide more advanced divers opportunities to explore wreckage in 80 to 100 feet of water. The wrecks are home to large Manta Rays, Turtles and Giant Grouper.

The refresher course is included free of charge if you book at least one two tank dive. This is recommended if you have not been diving in the last year. Be a smart diver!

Cancellation Policy

Dive Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made the day before by 7pm will receive a full 100% refund. Either
    visit the shop or telephone us to cancel, and please make sure to note the member
    of the staff who confirms the cancellation, for your refund
  • Cancellations because the harbormaster closes the port due to bad weather conditions
    and we can’t take out the boats may be re-scheduled, and if guests’ itinerary doesn’t
    allow will receive a 100% refund
  • Cancellations made the same day of the services, at any time or last minute, receive
    a 50% refund. Last minute re-scheduling fee of 20% applies, for changes within 60
    minutes of departure
  • For no-shows there is no refund, no exceptions
  • There is a 16% charge on all cancellations to cover payment commission and money transfer fees.

The marine life around Isla Mujeres is very rich – especially on shallow dives. When going on a reef dive you will be very likely to see: Anemone, Angelfish, Blue Striped Grunt, Blue Tang, Butterfly Fish, Christmas Tree Worm, Conch, Cowfish, Filefish, Grouper, Hard Coral (Brain Coral, Star Coral, Elkhorn Coral, Staghorn Coral), Parrotfish, Porcupine Fish, Pork Fish, Soft Coral (Sea Plume, Sea Rod, Sea Fan), Spiny Lobster, Sponge, Star Fish, Yellowtail Snapper.
